Events and Press

We are so grateful to all community members and organizations who consistently support our mission in many ways. From time cleaning and working on the facility to donations of money and items needed, it is a blessing to live in such a wonderful place like Tallahassee. Thank you!

In 2016 we had a new fundraiser – Jubi-Lee. Please read the attached article for more information. It was a very fun and lovely April night and we were able to raise money to help people in our community receive the therapy they need.

Each Fall Lee’s Place presents DoveTales! A unique evening of storytelling with local figures telling true stories to entertain you. This fundraiser sells out every year and has become the night not to miss in Tallahassee. Follow this link for more information.

Trinity United Methodist Church holds an annual Bear Sunday in February and Lee’s Place gratefully receives brand new teddy bears to share with child clients.

St. Peter’s Anglican Church sends volunteers in February for their annual Faithworks Day. They do housecleaning and garden work. A huge help for our small staff! They also bring VBS students in the summer and they are such hard workers and a delight!

Temple Israel assists in garden work and other tasks and maintenance during their Annual Mitzvah Day. Thank you!

First Baptist Church send groups of volunteers each year to clean, garden, and help as needed on their ‘First Love’ day.

On March 31, 2012, 17 high school students and 1 college student came to Lee’s Place through Peace Jam. They did amazing things in the house in just 4 hours! What a great help!
