The Board of Lee’s Place is saddened by the death of our board member, Mack Rush,
on April 29, 2019. Mack served the board in important ways; acting as the Lee’s Place official photographer, working countless hours in the yard and garden, and attending events like the rededication of Lee’s garden at Maclay School. We are happy to have had Mack on our board and we cherish his contributions and his memory.

So much more

Lee’s Place Board members volunteer in many ways to support our small and very busy practice. Board members spend hours supporting the operations of Lee’s Place doing things like conducting an annual strategic planning session, reviewing fiscal and program activities, reviewing and editing governing documents, staffing fund raisers, representing Lee’s Place at community events, and working in the Lee’s Place garden. After our deck and gazebo were destroyed by storm activity in 2017, board members helped solicit the Tallahassee Builders Association’s “We Care” program to rebuild this important part of the garden. When there is a need, the board does all it can to get materials and services donated, or to do the work themselves. No job is too big or too small.

The only way to make this happen is to take action!
